I’m not that familiar with Jordan or his work, I wish I could see it in person, but I keep coming across videos of Body Sculpture and there is only one word that comes to mind – “arresting.” It stops me in my tracks.
I cannot believe it takes $6 million dollars to bring an idea such as this to life, which makes me think how many pieces of art just don’t exist because of a lack of funding, which is duh but also some ideas take a lot more funding than you would imagine upon first thinking of it.

I’m also not familiar with the controversies surrounding Jordan’s work. It seems his pieces and what he thinks they are about are at times incongruous or purposefully ignite controversy separate from the merits a viewer might experience on their own?
But I am simply posting this here on the merits of what I saw in a few seconds of video. Mesmerizing performance by a robot. Arresting, stop you in your tracks art. Maybe some of the magic goes away if you see it in person or perhaps the artists remarks cannot be separated from the work and simply tarnish it too much to keep it on a pedestal, but for now I am mesmerized.

As a person appreciative of performance, live art, embodied art, I could not look away. I think there is something here and in his larger body of work as similar thoughts cross my mind when I learned of one of his other pieces (Female figure).
